Early Signs of Pregnancy
Firstly you will need a urine or blood test done to be completely 100% sure you are pregnant, but until you can take one of these tests (The best time to do one of these tests is when your periods are late).
Here are some early signs of pregnancy:
Shortness of breath – do you get winded walking upstairs all of a sudden? It might be because you are possibly pregnant. The growing foetus needs oxygen, leaving you feeling a little short breathed. This may continue throughout your entire pregnancy, especially as your baby growing baby starts to put pressure on your lungs and diaphragm.
Sore Breasts – Wearing a bra can be sore and comfortable. Is your breast feeling enlarged? Tender and heavy feeling breasts, darkening of the areolas and even more pronounced veins on your chest can be a first sign that you are possibly pregnant.
Fatigue – if you are suddenly feeling exhausted, it might be a response to the increasing hormones in your body. For many women, tiredness continues through the first trimester. But then subsides during the second trimester.
Nausea – Most pregnant women start feeling nausea’s when they are about 6 weeks pregnant. This is called “morning sickness” this can occur mornings, noon and at night times. It will most likely get better as you enter your second trimester.

Headaches – early signs of pregnancy can include a headache, because of changing hormones.
Backaches – is your lower back a little bit sore? If you do not usually have back pain it could mean that your ligaments are losing up.
Cramping – it is hard to tell but if you are feeling cramping, it might be your uterus stretching to get ready for a baby.
Cravings – suddenly you start craving foods sometimes the strangest foods that you do not even usually eat. If you notice food issues, it could be your body telling you that you are pregnant.
Mood swings – if you are feeling a little bit hormonal, it might be because your body is adjusting to new hormones.
Smell – if you are repulsed by certain smells, or have an increased sensitivity to odours, it may mean you might have a bun in the oven.
Late period – the most telling clue yet will be a missed period. If your cycle is normally regular and you are now late, you should maybe consider a pregnancy test.
Positive pregnancy test – you will not know for sure whether you are going to be a mom to be until you do a urine pregnancy test. If you get a negative result it could just be too early for the test to detect if you are pregnant.
